Home Counties

This project was a 7,000 square foot luxury new-build home for a private client located in a Home Counties village, won through competitive tender.

The Challenge

The four-bedroom, two-storey house was designed as two wings beneath ‘butterfly’ wing roofs separated by a central atrium. Brennan also built a two-storey artist’s studio and a single storey one-bedroom staff house. The west wing incorporates a basement and a swimming pool, spa, and gym complex.

Works included:

  • Sheet piled temporary works.
  • Reinforced concreted pile substructure.
  • Deep excavations below the water table for the new basement swimming pool and for rainwater storage tank.
  • Reinforced concrete superstructure with reinforced concrete butterfly profile roof structure.
  • Non-loadbearing insulated timber infill panels.
  • Multiple external claddings – mixed timber, decorative stone and Corten steel.
  • A new foul drain connection to the existing drain at a nearby road junction.
  • Underfloor heating via Air Source Heat Pumps with comfort cooling.
  • Lucent lighting with intelligent controls.
  • Full integrated AV system.
  • Extensive grounds remodelling and external works.

The bespoke architecture, with top of the range high quality finishes means that the completed product is a one of a kind ‘forever home’ for our client.
