MDS Bluebridge Industrial Estate
This project was undertaken for our client MDS to provide a commercial refurbishment of their workshops in the Bluebridge Industrial Estate in Halstead, together with a full refurbishment of the office area.

Solution
Works included:
- Full category B fit out throughout
- Removal of steel cladding to expose existing steel frame
- Extension of steel frame to create first floor office area
- Full office refurbishment including full mechanical and electrical installation
- The asbestos cement roof was removed and all existing asbestos cladding was also removed and replaced with new insulated composite panels
- Installation of mezzanine floor in the existing storage warehouse, with a feature entrance staircase with glazed handrails and a glass balustrade to the mezzanine

The contract was a 34 week build which was faster than we had originally anticipated. After commencement we decided to remove the existing asbestos roofs and re-clad the whole building. The variations have been agreed amicably and dealt with expediently.
The project has been very professionally managed by both the Contracts Manager Stuart Summerhill and especially by the Site Manager Andrew Cawtheray. Andrew has maintained exceptional standards of both workmanship, programme and health and safety.
