Sandpiper House

Located on the corner of a busy street in SE1, our project at Sandpiper House was to refurbish this five-floor office block internally and undertake external repairs for travel company Lotus Group Ltd.

The Works

Full strip out on each floor with new electrical installation, mechanical ventilation and chilled beam installation
• Replacement of existing boilers
• Constructing new partitions, widening and inserting new openings and doorways
• Installing a private closed-circuit TV system (CCTV) throughout the building
• New internal doors, glazed screens, skirtings and architraves
• Decorative wall coverings
• New floor finishes
• Extensive fit out of new reception area
• New sanitaryware and wall tiling on each floor
• New kitchen units, work units and worktops to each floor
• Removing existing suspended ceilings and replacing with new decorative suspended ceilings including incorporating light fittings
• Replacing client signage within the building
• Repairs to the flat roof, together with installing new plant on the roof
• Exterior cleaning to the stone façade

The Results

Throughout the project the client has remained in residence, moving floors temporarily as each phase has been completed. Key to the success of the project has been our ability to isolate each area effectively, ensuring a healthy and safe working environment. Close liaison with the client means that we have been able to respond flexibly to emerging design requirements during the works.

Charterhouse Buildings sits in a prominent position on the corner of Goswell Road and Old Street in Clerkenwell. 

 This design and build project employed Brennan to refurbish an existing office building both externally and internally, and construct a two-storey vertical extension.  The building retains commercial space at street level and these tenants remained in situ throughout the course of the project.

This is a Category A refurbishment and fit-out of a seven-storey office block in the heart of the City of London.  During the works two additional storeys have been built on the top of the original building, bringing the total number of storeys to nine.
